My Tea Obsession

Upon returning from Australia where tea is very much a thing, I craved a cup of tea at night or in the morning to start my day. I’ve always been a lover of tea, just never made it a habit. I have gobs and gobs of pre-packaged teas in bags. So I finally decided to do some research and invest in some “fancy” teas to enjoy.

My mind immediately went to my friend Ashley of Messy Kennedy’s series on Tea. So I read up on it and took a couple of her suggestions on what to order. I highly recommend reading through Ashley’s series in order to orient yourself on the different kinds of teas and other basic tea drinking information! I ordered some loose leaf teas from Teavana, a infusion ball/pot, a kettle for my stove, and some canisters to store the tea. Below you can check them out in real life color. 😉

In case you’re more interested in the specifics and where to find them, here you go!

Adagio tea tins (4 oz.) – Surprisingly finding tea tins isn’t that easy. I love these tins (mostly because they match my kitchen), but they’re also airtight and UV resistant to keep my tea fresh.

Teavana Caramel Chai Rooibos Tea – I LOVE  this tea, mostly because I am a chai lover. This tea is great by itself or mixed with some milk for more of a chai latte.

Teavana Matevana Herbal Tea – Herbal and Rooibos blend with LOTS of chocolate. It’s decadent and delicious. It’s one of my favorites to drink morning OR night!

Teavana Earl Grey Creme – A twist on your classic early grey black tea. It is much smoother than your standard early grey so if you’re not a huge earl grey fan this may be a good mild entrance into black teas.

Single Cup Tea infuser – Since I drink tea most of the time by myself, I picked up this simple single cup tea infuser from Amazon. They make cutesy versions of this but simple works for me. It does its’ job well.

Le Creuset Tea Kettle – Drinking tea morning and night means my kettle sits out on my stove, so I wanted something that will a. look cute and b. match my kitchen. I own several Le Creuset pots, pans, and a utensil holder in the same color. Surprisingly, this little kettle works well AND the big plus is that the handle doesn’t get that hot so you can handle it without a pot holder!

Yeti Rambler Tumbler (20 ounce) – We ordered these cups for customers at work. They are AMAZING. While my husband loves enjoying his cocktails out of it, I drink my tea out of it. It honestly keeps my tea (or coffee if I drank it) for HOURS! They’re spendy but I would invest in one in a heart beat.

They make all sorts of other awesome gadgets for tea drinking that I am sure I will invest in eventually. I just picked up this tea infuser carafe for infusing my tea on the go from World Market on sale. But for now, these simple things work great for my tea experience.

Are any of you tea drinkers? What are your favorite teas? Tea products? Would love to hear suggestions!

Australia did the same thing to me! As soon as I returned home from living there I bought an electric tea kettle! I don’t drink coffee every morning I drink tea. I love a good afternoon cuppa too!
Now I need to go read Messy Kenedy’s series on tea!
