OKAY – LET’S KEEP IT SIMPLE.
HI! I’M JENNIFER, BUT MOST PEOPLE CALL ME JENNY!
I’m a Californian turned North Dakotan. The daughter of a second generation butcher. The wife to a born and raised North Dakota farmer. And mom to the three smiliest kiddos, ever.
It all started back in 2011 when my life as I knew it changed forever. I was living in beautiful Northern California, working at my parent’s local butcher shop, and (no joke) vowed never to leave. THEN I met my (now) farmer husband via Twitter and it all changed. A few months later, I moved from California to North Dakota. Yeah, that MUST have been love…
Prairie Californian started as a digital journal of my journey of moving my entire life from the hometown I grew up in to starting a new life in small town rural North Dakota. Today, Prairie Californian has become a hub for the things I am most passionate about in life: family, food, farming, and my faith.
Most people describe me as loyal, dedicated, and positive. And on Prairie Californian, I am blessed to continually remind people to live life with intention. I encourage people to cook the foods they love, connect with the ones they love, and ultimately, cultivate a life that they love.
Most days you can find me running after our three wild kids, with a camera in my hand capturing all the beauty that is the North Dakota prairie, and whipping up only the finest of culinary creations in my rural small town kitchen.
