It is amazing to look back at our year visually. There is something about a photograph that takes you back. The ability of a photograph to capture a moment in time. The emotions, the excitement, the happiness, or the sadness. One snapshot in time captures it all.
As I look back on 2013 in photos, I am reminded of our trip to Hawaii, Jamaica, our small stop in Oklahoma, out to Montana for wedding planning, our trip to the Black Hills, our wedding, our Harleymoon, and our Thanksgiving in California. I am reminded of all the amazing people that were in our lives in 2013. Family, friends, social media friends. I am reminded of the beauty of living here in North Dakota and how truly fortunate we are to make a living farming. Planting crops, checking crops, harvesting crops… every year is different.
As I watch these photographs, one after another, I am reminded that we are eternally blessed. Blessed to be living this life we are living. And before I look towards 2014, I will be saying a prayer to the good Lord above for all the blessings He brought to us in 2013. As so many people have endured struggles and overcome illness this past year, I am grateful beyond words to have the year that we just had.
I hope today, you too, take a moment today to look back on the last year… The blessings, the sorrows, the accomplishments, and the failures. Take a moment and give some thanks. Even for the small things. And remember, despite whatever happened in 2013, there is a new year ahead of you. Full of possibilities and bright futures. Happy New Year my friends!
