Pork Burgers

classic Iowa pork burgers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 pounds ground pork
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon season salt
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the bacon and onion in a food processor and pulse until minced. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl add the ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, dijon mustard, and seasonings. Add the minced bacon and onion. Mix well.
  3. Form six to eight burgers. Preheat grill, once hot grill burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees. Top with cheese and enjoy!
