White Wine Margarita

White Wine Margarita

If there is one thing I love it is citrus.. Of all sorts. Lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit. I love the tartness and freshness. I’ve always loved the flavor of a margarita. But, I am not a huge fan of the tequila. It ruins it for me. Maybe it’s because I’ve had bad experiences. We won’t go there. Or maybe it’s because I just really don’t enjoy the flavor.

Anyway, I got this brilliant idea to sub tequila for wine. Because I love wine. I figured it wouldn’t be too far off of a citrus sangria. Well, it was brilliant. And talk about delicious!! Grab yourselves some limes, some friends, and enjoy!

Jenny, sounds like a cool drink to enjoy on a late summer evening and while a football game with family and friends.

I saw this and mixed up the base so I can make daily servings. My wife said it was a great drink and it wasn’t what she was expecting.

A perfect use for pinot grigio. Freshly squeezed citrus juice enabled my husband and me to, without reservation, ascribe salutary properties to this tasty beverage. I used orange liqueur to avoid compromising the alcohol content. In anticipation of my next batch, I prepared a small amount of double strength simple syrup (1/4 cup sugar: 2T H2O) to circumvent the wait time as the sugar dissolves. I will purchase a more user friendly citrus juicer to eliminate seed removal. This recipe rewards the effort it requires, which exceeds the stated 10 minutes.

Nice idea, White Wine Margarita could be good too with a Riesling from Alsace in France, don’t you ?
