Holiday Beauty Swap

Holiday Beauty Swap

If you remember back, in mid November, Crystal Cattle and I started a Holiday Beauty Swap. We paired up beauty loving ladies and they send one another beauty gifts in the mail.

Not only was this Swap great because it allowed us to meet a whole bunch of new beauty lovin’ women, it also gave us the opportunities to try new products. Maybe some things we hadn’t tried before without having to go and blow a bunch of money on beauty products. It’s so expensive being a woman! Anyone else feel my pain?

It was so much fun to see photos of everyone’s gifts and all the variety in the products they received. My partner was Jenn from Oregon. She is a writer/poet with a love for all things beauty related. You can read some of her writings and follow along with her Facebook page using this link: https://www.facebook.com/TalesFromTheSagebrush

Thank you again to Jenn for participating in this swap and for sending along these fun beauty goodies!! And here is what Jenn sent me:

Holiday Beauty Swap

1. OPI Mariah Carey Holiday Collection: I was so thrilled to receive all kinds of snazzy nail polish! I love glitter polish and these polishes didn’t disappoint! I love this Mariah Carey Holiday collection (first of all bc I love all things MC) and secondly because it gives you the chance to try out four different colors in one collection. From the looks of it, darker nail polish is in and I am just in love with that sultry brown color + the glitter gold on top! I had the best intentions to paint my nails for New Years Eve but we ended up at home anyway, so it didn’t get done! I do plan on utilizing these nail colors for the New Year as winter is still very much here.

2. Urban Decay Naked Beauty Balm: I was pretty stoked to see a product from Urban Decay, since I bought all the makeup and other products for our wedding, I picked up quite a bit of Urban Decay products and have just loved them. Seriously their stuff is quality and it works. Their eyeshadow palettes are my favorite. I was a little unsure of what this beauty balm is or does so I hopped online to check it out. Turns out a BB cream is an all-in-one cosmetic product that can be used as a moisturizer, primer, foundation, or sunblock. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over your moisturizer, under foundation, or under powder depending on the coverage you are looking for. I subbed this for my usual tinted moisturizer and I must say, I love it! It is a little lighter than my usual tinted moisturizer which I love, but it gives me enough coverage that I can get away with putting some powder over it and still look “finished”.

All in all, this was a super fun swap to participate in and a HUGE thank you goes out to Crystal for coordinating this for all of us beauty lovin’ ladies! If you weren’t involved this time around, keep an eye out for Crystal’s next beauty swap as she is planning on making this a regular thing! And if you participated, don’t forget to link up with your post sharing what you received over at Crystal Cattle. Thank you to all the ladies who participated and I hope you enjoyed the first ever Beauty Swap!

Those nail polishes are great. I can only imagine all the possibilities. The Boy and I were in on New Years Eve too, both fighting colds and waiting for cows to calve. Hope you and the Farmer have an awesome 2014. Thanks so much for helping me host the Beauty Swap.

You got some great stuff! I’m a nail polish snob and pretty much only wear OPI, I NEEEEEED to try those colors. I’ve been scared to try a bb cream in fear of it being to heavy. Definitely going to have to try this one, especially since its Urban Decay.
